Roberto Soldado hails Tottenham team-mate Christian Eriksen after Norwich win

The 21-year-old made the switch from Ajax last month, but the international break meant that he had to wait to make his Spurs bow, starting in the 2-0 win over Norwich City.

Eriksen assisted Gylfi Sigurdsson for the opening goal and impressed throughout, earning the praise of fellow new arrival and team-mate, Soldado. "He is a brilliant player.

It's incredible that he has got up to this level already in his first game in English football," the Spain international said.

"It's great for him, for the team. He is a player who is capable of improving all of us. "He is a player that makes everything look easy and that's good for us. T

oday he made the difference; he's a player that can support us in everything we do. He can offer us a lot of passes to everyone who plays in attack for Spurs.

" Soldado also recognised the significance of the victory, saying that Spurs' campaign could depend on winning these kind of games.

"We know that it's important to get three points at home, that will be clear at the end of the season," he said. "I was close to scoring, but winning games always comes first for me."

Robin van Persie, Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra are, however, all expected to return for United after missing Rio Ferdinand's testimonial on Friday.Wigan are without captain Gary Caldwell but James McClean could make his debut.Another new signing, Thomas Rogne, is out with a back problem for Wigan, though Leon Barnett and Emmerson Boyce are expected to retain their places in Owen Coyle's side.

Team News:
Grant Holt will lead the line for his new club after dropping down a division from Norwich, with Marc Antoine-Fortune also in contention.
Rooney missed Rio Ferdinand's testimonial against Sevilla at Old Trafford on Friday, having suffered the injury during a behind-closed-doors match nine days ago.
But Roy Hodgson has included the striker in his squad for England's friendly against Scotland at Wembley on Wednesday.
Rooney publicly thanked Hodgson for his "faith and support" in a message on his Facebook account on Friday. "Can't wait to join up with the England squad and hopefully play in a competitive match, they always are against Scotland," Rooney wrote.
"Big thanks to Roy Hodgson for selecting me and showing his faith and support, appreciate it."
However Manchester United manager David Moyes told MUTV he expected the striker to be used sparingly by England.
"I had a long conversation with Roy about it last week," Moyes said.
"Wayne has had a shoulder injury. He has been sore with it, which has meant he has not been able to have any contact. He has trained a little bit with the reserves as a non-contact player, a floating player, so at least he got a little bit of football work.

"He trained with the first team on Saturday and he did a bit of extra work, so he is probably more likely to be ready for England than he will be for us. You've got to remember he has had no football practice.
"I explained all this and I would only expect Roy to play him for a short time."
Hodgson has already said that he believes Rooney is physically fit but it has now been more than a month since the striker joined up with United's senior squad since leaving the club's pre-season in Asia with a hamstring injury.
United insist that Rooney will not be sold this summer, having rejected two bids from Chelsea.

THE two big guns from Hearts vs Hibernian the east meet on Sunday in what is one of the most intriguing Edinburgh derbies in recent memory. Hearts are set to be without striker Dale Carrick for the Edinburgh derby against Hibernian at Tynecastle on Sunday lunchtime.
The 19-year-old had to be taken off early on during an U20s match in midweek, having picked up a knee injury.
And manager Gary Locke said on Friday that Carrick would need to get the injury scanned.
However, Locke also confirmed that the rest of his squad are fit and available for the visit of their local rivals.
Hibernian boss Pat Fenlon's selection worries have eased slightly as he welcomes back Rowan Vine and Jordon Forster after the pair missed the 1-0 loss to Motherwell.
Left-back Ryan McGivern should be fit after recovering from a thigh strain but
Alex Harris (ankle) joins James McPake, Tim Clancy, Paul Cairney and Bradley Donaldson on the treatment table.
Hearts goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald: "We want to stay in this league and we are confident that if we can get a few wins we will put pressure on other teams and we will start to climb the table.
"We need to start winning games now and there would be nothing better than starting [against Hibernian].
"It is a mammoth task, especially for a young squad, many of whom will be playing their first professional season anywhere.
"It is going to be difficult but there is a good atmosphere at the club just now.
"It is all about trying to enjoy as much as you can, daft as it may sound. Hopefully if we do that we will start winning games."

Vicente popped up with a late winner against promotion chasing Hull. Brighton sit in 7th position now just 2 points behind Middlesbrough, who take up the last promotion playoff spot. Only top team Cardiff have lost less times than Brighton. The Seagulls tend to draw too many though. Overall they have 11 wins, 12 draws and 7 losses. Brighton must do without Ashley Barnes, Gordon Greer and Andrew Crofts.

Blackburn have three wins on the trot now and are really starting to settle under third coach Michael Appleton. Blackburn look really solid now and have yet to concede in three games. More importantly the home crowd look appeased and have started to lay off the players. Something that was always going to be counter productive. Blackburn are just two points behind Brighton on 41 points. They have 11 wins, 10 draws and 9 losses. Top scorer Jordan Rhodes returns to the side and could be joined by new side Lee Williamson.
BRIGHTON - BLACKPOOL: PREDICTIONS: 1X2 BETTING PREVIEW
The draw two sides on the up here but both are partial to drawing too many. Confidence is high with both sides and they are at the moment really excelling defensively. All the signs point towards a draw here and I think neither side will want to chance too much.  With 22 draws between them already this looks like making it 23.
