Derby County prepare to entertain Leicester City at Pride Park on Saturday afternoon, looking to continue an impressive record. The Rams are clearly on top, winning 58.33% of the games played between the two.

The most recent encounter between these two sides at Pride Park was less than a year ago, in March 2013, the Rams carving out a narrow 2-1 victory in a Championship match.

Jeff Hendrick and Conor Sammon (Republic of Ireland), Jamie Ward (Northern Ireland), Kieron Freeman (Wales Under-21), Will Hughes (England Under-21) and Valentin Gjokaj (Albania Under-21) have all been away this week with their respective countries.

"I hope they all come back fit and well," said Rams boss Nigel Clough. "They will all be checked over the coming days to make sure they all came through okay. With the 18 or 19 players we have got, we want to keep them fit and that squad intact for as long as we can."

Clough will hope that central defenders Mark O'Brien and Shaun Barker (both knee) remain his only injury absentees.

Sean St Ledger is expected to be the only absentee for Leicester when they make the short trip to their East Midlands rivals.

St Ledger suffered a grade two tear in his knee during training last Friday and it is thought the Republic of Ireland international defender will be out for up to six weeks.

Defender Ritchie De Laet was forced off against Leeds through illness while winger Ben Marshall missed Sunday's game against the Yorkshire club with a bug but both players will be in contention at Pride Park.

Head-to-head

These east Midland rivals have been playing each other in the league since 1907, with Derby winning 42 of the 96 matches and Leicester 29.

First-half headers from captain Richard Keogh and on-loan striker Chris Martin were enough to secure all three points for Derby in a 2-1 win in last season's corresponding match.

That triumph also ended the Foxes' five-match winning sequence against them.

Derby County

Derby kicked off the season with a 1-1 draw at home to Blackburn, a 1-0 away win over Oldham in the Capital One Cup and a 2-1 away triumph over Brighton.

It's eight years since the Rams last started with a four-match unbeaten sequence in all competitions.

This match is pitting Nigel Clough, the longest serving current manager in the Championship, with Leicester's Nigel Pearson, the fourth longest serving.

Leicester City

The Foxes have also started without defeat; winning 2-1 at Middlesbrough, 2-1 at Wycombe in the Capital One Cup, and a goalless draw at home to Leeds.

Leicester have never won the first two away fixtures of a Football League season.

Making club history would be fitting for manager Pearson, in the week of his 50th birthday (next Wednesday).
