Everton and Arsenal Schalke wait on Ace

Both Everton and Arsenal are waiting in the wings to see if Lewis Holtby renew his contract with Schalke, according Talksport.

22 years, the midfielder agreement with the German club expires this summer and negotiations are underway with a decision expected in due course.

Schalke general manager Horst Heldt said: "The negotiations are in the final phase is to detail"

"A decision will be taken before the end of the year. Will just watch it (sold in January) if someone expresses an interest."

It is believed that Arsenal and Everton would be willing to sign a player in January agreed discount. A pre-contract agreement could also examine whether Holtby decided not to renew with the Gelsenkirchen-based club. It is, however, that the move to Goodison Park would be an ideal target young people, because he is an avowed fan Everton.

Holtby has always expressed the desire to one day play in the Premier League and was allowed to play for England by his father, before he was given a German cap in 2010.
